COLWYN BAY SIGN CONFERENCE STRIKER
COLWYN BAY have completed the signing of striker Adriano Rigoglioso from Conference club Grays Athletic and he will be in the squad for Saturday's big top-three clash at Llanelian Road against Lancaster City.
The Merseyside-based 30-year-old, who has been training full-time at Chester City recently, played in the same Liverpool FA Youth Cup winning side as Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher and has also had spells at Morecambe, Doncaster Rovers and Forest Green Rovers.
He was impressed with the set-up at Llanelian Road when he played in a pre-season friendly for the Bay, and has agreed to sign this week after failing to gain a regular place at Grays.
"We see him as filling the role played by Rob Hopley before he got injured and hopefully his experience will help us get where we want to be," said manager Neil Young.
"He already knows some of the players here and it is nice that he is not money-motivated and just wants to come here and play football."
Disappointing injury news for the Bay, however, is that new defensive signing Danny Grannon injured knee ligaments in last Saturday's defeat at AFC Fylde and is likely to be out of action for two to three weeks.

PETER MAUDE - RIP
It was with great sadness that Colwyn Bay FC has learned of the passing this week of Wakefield FC President and former UniBond League Chairman Peter Maude whilst on a break in Spain.
He began his association with his club Wakefield FC in the early seventies when they were still known as Emley after moving in to the area and became Club President in 1983, a role he occupied during the club’s most successful era as they contested the FA Vase Final at Wembley in 1988, won promotion to the UniBond League twelve months later and took on the might of West Ham United in the 3rd Round Proper of the FA Cup in 1998 before losing 2-1 in the last few minutes at Upton Park.
Peter was a true gentleman and on behalf of all at Colwyn Bay FC we wish to pass on our condolences and deepest sympathy to Peter’s family, friends and everyone at Wakefield FC.

CBFC Elite Performance Centre takes on Premier League Academy
Our boys from the Elite Performance Centre did us proud on Wednesday the 28th of October when they visited Everton’s training ground (Finch Farm) to play respective teams from the Everton Youth Academy. The games were played consisting of 4 x 20 minutes and 9 a side, with all the boys enjoying an equal amount of game time.
The Under 12s played a very good game with an ending score line of; Everton Academy 5 – 5 CBFC Elite Centre. Scorers: Callum Parry 2, Ben Smith 1, Stevie Jones (capt) 1, Harvey Holmes 1.
The Under 11s’ score line of; Everton Academy 9 – 1 CBFC Elite Centre did not reflect the game in which every Colwyn Bay player gave their very best on an unlucky day. Also to be added; Wednesday was the first time the Under 11s played a competitive game as a team.
Steve Roberts (CBFC Elite Centre Coach) commented: “It was pleasing to see the improvement in the boys’ attention to detail with reference to game strategies that myself along with the other coaches are trying to teach.”
Chris Whitley also commented: “As Director of Football at Colwyn Bay Football Club I am delighted with the success of the Elite Performance Centre and their visit to Everton Football Club. This venture marked the culmination of many months of hard work towards the formulation of a first class support structure for selected young players within the area. Through the structured programme of provision, the development of young players will be greatly enhanced, giving them every opportunity to achieve their maximum potential within the game. A programme of Coaching Sessions and Seminars are planned, together with a quality Games Programme, which will take place both at home and away against opposition of the highest standard.”
Following a great day, Everton’s coaches commented the boys had played and competed very well against a very good Everton team and were a credit to Colwyn Bay FC. Everton Academy are keen for a return fixture at Colwyn Bay’s Llanelian Road which we hope will take place in December (tbc).
The boys were also treated to a behind the scenes tour of the fantastic facilities which includes indoor and outdoor 3G pitches, fitness facility for player conditioning and rehabilitation and the extensive number of training pitches.
A big Thank you to all the family and friends that supported our two squads on this away fixture and a thank you to all the CBFC Elite Performance Centre management team for their time and excellent organisation which allowed this day to be a great success.
ASPINALL FREE TO TALK TO OTHER CLUBS
Due to limited opportunities and the amount of cover in the full back area, Neil Young has given Steven Aspinall permission to speak with other clubs.
Neil said "Steve has been excellent both on and off the pitch since I arrived at the club but due to limited opportunities in recent weeks and the cover we currently have in the full back area it has been jointly decided that in order for Steve to play week in week out we would give him permission to speak with other clubs.”
