21-06-06: ADAMSON WINGS IN:
Dav has made his first official signing with the arrival of wide midfielder Chris Adamson from Rhyl.  Dav is aware of the strengths of the existing squad, and has identified the need to bring in some additional quality in midfield and particularly in wide positions.   28 year old Chris is seen as a player with impressive energy levels and the ability to deliver quality balls into the box.  Whilst Dav has been in contact with a number of other players who will strengthen the existing squad he does not intend to make a string of new signings at this stage preferring to ensure he gets the quality he wants.

WEBSITE BACKING CONTINUES:
We are all grateful that the website will be sponsored for the next 2 years by our friends at The Plough.  Richie and Family are excellent backers to the club and this extended sponsorship is much appreciated.  In addition our friends at Inner Frame will again be supporting the Bay, with provision of their impressive frames for key events as well as providing the awards for our end of season Players awards.

15-06-06: EASY DOES IT:

As part of the alterations to the ground, the club shop has been relocated.  Incorporating techniques last used by the pyramid building Ancient Egyptians involving basic physics, gravity and the slave labour of the Israelites (working party) the shop now resides in front of the old canteen.  The picture shows Pharaoh Bob encouraging the boys whilst ignoring Neil’s plea to “Let my people go!”, whilst the promise of Chris Dale’s technicolour dream coat added to the spectacle.

12-06-06: CONGRATS:
The weekend saw our bar manageress tie the knot.  Pictured are the happy couple Wendy and Dino Tamburrini.

09-06-06: FUNDRAISING GROUP TO PUSH AGAIN:
With the ongoing need to develop the ground, the club is pleased to welcome the initiative from supporters to reinvigorate the fundraising drive.  With a specific focus on providing enhanced facilities for the supporters at the ground, the group fronted by Arthur Holden will be organising a variety of events to generate funds earmarked for ground development work and supporting the desire to erect the new stand alongside the terrace side of Llanelian Road.  More details to follow but it is a boost to everyone at the club that the backing from the supporters will hopefully produce concrete benefits.

04-06-06: MAJOR DEAL FOR CLUB:
Colwyn Bay FC is pleased to announce it’s largest ever sponsorship deal.  In a link up with the leading global brewer InBev, the Bay will be backed by the world famous Boddingtons name.  As part of an initial 1 year deal with a further 1 year option the Bay will be sporting the Boddingtons logo on its shirts in what is being described as a 5 figure deal, with additional benefits linked to performance.  he sponsors have been particularly impressed with the progress the club is making and its ambitions for the future.  The new clubhouse facilities at the ground caught the eye of the sponsors and will be used as a venue for corporate meetings and functions as well as for entertaining clients.
Boddingtons Account Manager Simon Sedgwick commented; “The club has made significant strides in the last couple of seasons and is developing an excellent reputation, we would like to think this arrangement will be of significant mutual benefit.  With the recent managerial appointment of Peter Davenport and the determination of the board to establish strong foundations in the community, we see the arrangement with Colwyn Bay as the ideal vehicle to promote our portfolio whilst supporting an ambitious and progressive club.”

Colwyn Bay Chairman Bob Paton commented; “To establish a partnership with as world famous a brand as Boddingtons gives everyone at the club a real boost and is some reward for the efforts made at the club over the last couple of years.  It is also refreshing that whilst Boddingtons other football sponsorship is with Everton FC, they still recognise the importance of grass roots football”
