THE Seagulls will bid to end an unbeaten record for the second time in four days when they play Hyde United (pictured) at the Four Crosses Construction Arena on Tuesday (September 12, 7:45pm kick off).
After Saturday’s excellent team performance to inflict the first defeat in 46 games on South Shields, for which Bay have been voted Evostik League Team of the Week, manager Phill Hadland will be asking for “the same again” against a Hyde side that have won five and drawn two of their seven league and FA Cup ties so far this season and who boast the best defensive record in the division with just three goals conceded.
Former Bury forward Tom Pratt, who was a stand out player with Mossley last season, is Hyde’s top scorer with four goals after signing for them in the summer, but Bay’s in-form Astley Mulholland will be hoping to add to his seven goals and stay top of the Evostik North’s scoring charts.
Colwyn Bay, Hyde and Ramsbottom United are currently the only three sides left in the division who can still boast unbeaten league records and a Bay win on Tuesday would lift them into the top five of the table.
They look likely to be unchanged, with Gaz Grant still unavailable, although the manager will need a late check on a couple of knocks suffered in last Saturday’s game.
Although stormy weather is forecast for Tuesday evening, the pitch is currently in good condition so the game is ON.
