SEAGULLS boss Kevin Lynch has confirmed two more new signings ahead of Saturday’s away game at Mickleover Sports.
Former Wigan Athletic midfielder Steve Boothman has been signed from Bradford Park Avenue, while striker Jordan Harper was previously with Lincoln City.
They join Connor Roberts-Nurse and loan signing Joe Williams from Wrexham who are all in line for a possible debut in the game at Mickleover (weather permitting).
The 23-year-old Boothman, who can play centre or left midfield, was highly rated by Roberto Martinez when he was manager at Wigan, but was released after Martinez moved to Everton.
Kevin commented: “He is a high energy, skilful player with a good eye for a pass, while Jordan Harper has a great left
foot, has pace and strength and I believe both players will do well for us.”
Jordan Fagbola and Glenn Matthews are both in contention again after injury and the manager has the rare luxury of a full strength squad to choose from for the game at Mickleover.
“We had another really good session with Derry Matthews at his Liverpool gym on Tuesday and the lads are in good spirits and just desperate for a game now,” said the manager
The Bay are currently eight points behind Mickleover, but have three games in hand on them and will see them as one of the sides they will be looking to try and overhaul as they fight to pull out of the relegation places.
The Derbyshire club, who won promotion last season, had an excellent 4-2 victory at Barwell in their last outing, but before that had won only one of their previous 17 league and cup fixtures and have lost seven of their 13 home league game this season.
“We know it will be tough, but there is all to play for,” added the manager.
Mickleover are planning a 9am pitch inspection on Saturday morning.
THE Reserves’ scheduled home game against Porthmadog has been postponed.
