MIDFIELDER Tom Buckley has left the Seagulls to join Evostik Division One North promotion chasers Salford City, after they put in seven days for him last week.
Manager Frank Sinclair commented: “I’m very disappointed to lose him and a bit surprised he has decided to drop two divisions to join Salford, but we wish him good luck and are working hard to try and bring in a replacement before the Christmas and New Year games.”
Salford are now owned by a group of ex-Manchester United players including Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, and Manchester-based Tom texted: “I’m sorry to go and was very happy at Colwyn Bay, but it (Salford) was a lot more convenient and was hard to turn down. Send my regards to everyone at Colwyn. It’s been a pleasure.”
He has played 19 games for the Bay, scoring five goals, since joining the club from Stalybridge Celtic in the summer.
