Taylor clear for Trinity game

INTERNATIONAL clearance has come through for newly re-signed Danny Taylor to be included in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Gainsborough Trinity following his return from Chester.
Manager Frank Sinclair commented: “He has shown in training this week the qualities he brings to the squad.
“He may not have played that much for Chester, but I believe training every week with better players has helped improve his game.”
Wes Baynes has recovered from a tight hamstring and Louis Moss returns after missing last week’s game against Bradford due to his grandmother’s funeral.
The disappointing news is that the highly rated midfielder Moustapha Saiel may now miss the rest of the season after his persistent knee problem was this week diagnosed in France as cruciate ligament damage.
“Its very disappointing for the lad,” said the manager. “He has come over from Senegal to try his luck in English football and has got injured after only 12 minutes of his first league game for us against Hyde.
“We will try and seek a second opinion, but an operation would rule him out for six months.”
Colwyn Bay have the chance to record their first league double of the season after beating Gainsborough 4-1 at home in September, helped by an Obi Anoruo hat-trick.
Gainsborough’s only two wins in nine league games since then have been against the bottom two sides in the division, Hyde and Stalybridge – with Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Guiseley their third successive home defeat.
But Sinclair commented: “By all accounts they were unlucky not to get something from the game on Tuesday and the league is so tight that a couple of wins can lift them right up the table so that is an incentive for them.
“However, We go there still unbeaten away from home in the league and knowing a win would keep us in the mix for the play-off places.”
