NLD-final-logo-01NEXT Saturday (Sept 6) is Non League Day and Colwyn Bay are joining the national campaign to try and take advantage of there being no Premier League or Championship games due to the international break.
The Seagulls are at home to sixth-placed Gainsborough Trinity (3pm) are offering half price admission to any football fan who can produce a season ticket with any other club, league or non-league, who may be without a fixture over the weekend.
This is the fifth year of Non League Day and with Luton Town v Plymouth Argyle the only live game being shown on television on Saturday afternoon, Colwyn Bay are hoping locally-based fans with will turn out to support their local club and bolster the attendance as the Seagulls look to build on last Saturday’s excellent 3-0 away victory at Leamington.
That maintained an unbeaten away record this season (two wins and a draw) and it means Colwyn Bay go into Saturday’s game only three points behind the current top five.
Prostate Cancer UK are the official charity for the weekend, with league sponsors Vanrama making a donation on behalf of every fan attending matches and number of football personalities including Matt Le Tissier are helping to promote the day.
Colwyn Bay’s own Frank Sinclair and Ade Akinbiyi are playing for a Sam Allardyce X1 in a special match at Morecambe on Sunday to help raise extra funds for the charity.
To help raise awareness for the campaign, you can join Matt Le Tissier and others, and post pictures of you and your friends with thumbs up to @Vanarama and using #thumbsup4NLD, or www.facebook.com/vanarama
