COLWYN BAY travel to bottom of the table Burscough on Saturday (Nov 19) without top scorer Gary Burnett, who has been released by manager Paul Moore.
The former Northwich Victoria striker, who leads the Bay’s scoring list this season with five goals, has not made the starting line-up in the last couple of games and is now looking for regular first team football elsewhere.
The manager commented: “We have agreed to let Gaz Burnett go. We thank him for all his efforts and wish him all the very best at his next club.”
After making nine changes for the midweek cup game at Northwich Victoria, the Seagulls look set to revert to the nucleus of the squad that drew 1-1 at title-chasing Lancaster City last weekend, plus vice-captain Chris Gahgan who is fit again after recent surgery.
Front man Will Jones will be hoping to play against his former club, where he was top scorer last season, although recent signing Jack Kelleher scored on Wednesday to stake a claim for a starting place.
Burscough will have been boosted by a 2-1 home victory over an understrength Lancaster City side in the League Cup on Tuesday, but they have won only one of their 17 league games so far this season and are five points adrift at the foot of the table with the worst defensive record in the division.
Match updates from Burscough will be on Twitter @ColwynBayFC.
THE Reserves are away to Llanrug in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Reserve Division with a 2pm kick off.
