SEAGULLS manager Phill Hadland has announced his first confirmed signings for the new season in former Glossop North End, Witton Albion and Marine goalkeeper Matt Cooper, and attacking player Jack Hindle from Radcliffe Borough.
The 28-year-old Cooper was in the Glossop side that played at Wembley in the 2009/10 FA Vase final against Whitley Bay and then had three seasons with Witton Albion before a short spell at Marine prior to rejoining Glossop where he won the Player of the Month award in February.
Hindle, 23, scored 13 goals and had 21 assists for Radcliffe last season, playing up front or on the wing, and was also club captain. The manager describes him as “A great addition for us.
“Both Matt and Jack had several offers from other clubs but chose to come to Colwyn Bay, which is brilliant.”
The manager expects more players to put pen to paper over the next week or so and although Luke Denson, Tom Schofield and keeper Karl Wills have left the club, he is expecting most of last season’s squad to sign on again.
“I still need to finalise terms with a few players and speak to some lads who are away on holiday, but the majority will definitely be staying,” reported the manager.
The club are awaiting confirmation from a couple of clubs before releasing a list of pre-season games.
