chris-sannaColwyn Bay have announced that goalkeeper Chris Sanna has decided to leave the club after seven seasons and 227 appearances.
Chairman David Messon reported: “I have had a chat with Chris and wished him all the best and said that he will always be welcomed back to the club.
“He wanted Frank to guarantee he would always be the first choice next season. Unfortunately Frank could not do that as we are signing Josh Ollerenshaw who has been released by Fleetwood.
“Frank wanted to play whoever was performing best.
“I can understand Chris’s situation not wanting to travel long distances to away matches and not playing, and at least two other clubs were after him.
“It is sad but these things happen in football and the goalkeeper position is one of those where you can’t play him in other positions.
“We will be signing Josh Clark as our other keeper.”
Chris Sanna tweeted: “Would like to thank everyone @colwynbayfc for their support over past 7 seasons. Have loved every minute of being involved with such a great club. I’m sad to leave but also really proud to see the club in the position it is.”
