UNBEATEN Colwyn Bay Reserves went top of the Welsh Alliance Reserve Division for at least 24 hours when they beat Blaenau Amateurs 3-1 tonight (Friday).
They went into the game three points behind leaders Llandyrnog with three games in hand and a superior goal difference, while Llandyrnog are due to play at Llandudno Junction tomorrow (Saturday).
The Bay were 1-0 up at half-time with a Damien Ketley goal, after having an early penalty saved, and added further goals in the second half through Adam Hodgson and Josh Grant, who also hit the bar with a shot from outside the area.
Blaenau pulled a goal back late on.
That is five wins out of five for the Bay, whose 10-0 rout of Meliden Reserves last month has been expunged following Meliden’s decision to withdraw their reserve team from the league.
