Tom Smyth

Tom started his career with Preston North End where he was captain of Preston’s youth side and was a regular at reserve team level in 2009, the same year as he was handed his first professional contract. He was formerly a striker at Preston but converted to a defender whilst at the club.

In June 2010 he signed for League two club Accrington Stanley on a one year contract, making his debut on August 31 as a substitute in a Football League Trophy match against Tranmere Rovers.

In December 2010 he joined Blue Square North club Workington on loan but joined Northwich Victoria when Accrington released him at the end of June 2011 when his contrcat expired.

He joined Colwyn Bay in May 2012 and after undergoing knee surgery in the middle of last season, came back to play a crucial part in Colwyn Bay winning their last six games in 15 days to escape relegation.
