SEAGULLS boss Phill Hadland expects to have two new additions to the squad for Saturday’s home game against table toppers Lancaster City – the Bay’s only home game over the next three weeks.
Central midfielder Iwan Cartwright has signed this week from Wrexham and has been cleared to play. The Wrexham-based 20-year-old joined his home town club as a junior and more recently has been at Nuneaton Town in the National league North, with a short spell on loan to Hednesford Town, prior to returning to Wrexham.
The manager has also been working this week to complete the signing of left winger Warren Bellew from Evostik Premier Division club Marine.
The 26-year-old helped Skelmersdale United win the Evostik Division One North title in 2013 and has also had spells at Clitheroe and Prescot Cables.
League leaders Lancaster will come to the Bay keen to get their title chase back on track after a shock 3-2 home defeat to Brighouse last weekend, although that was their first defeat in eight games – including a run of five consecutive victories.
City boast the best away record in the division with 11 wins in their 16 games on the road, and in Jordan Connerton have one of the division’s top goal scorers, having hit 27 in all competitions so far this season.
- Before the kick off on Saturday the club plan to hold a minute’s applause in memory of staunch club supporter and volunteer Colin Hart who sadly passed away this week. He will be greatly missed and Colwyn Bay Football Club extend sympathy and condolences to Colin’s family.
