SEAGULLS boss Alan Morgan says all five of his summer signings could make their home debuts in Tuesday’s opening pre-season friendly against League Two Crewe Alexandra (July 10, 7:30pm kick off).
Danny Shaw, Ethan Devine, Ryan Edwards, Ashley Ruane and Craig Pritchard have trained well and look likely to be involved at some point.
“They will be in the squad so will play a part, ” reported the manager.
Ethan Devine (pictured right) turned down the offer of a pro contract at Tranmere so he can complete a five year accountancy course, but Alan commented: “He has real potential. He will still only be 23 when his accountacy course finishes and I fully expect to see him playing full-time League Football by the time he is 24”.
Crewe have indicated they will be bringing a strong squad and could possibly give a first outing to new striker signing Alex Nicholls, who completed the move from Barnet last week, for his debut. He has previously been with Walsall and Exeter.
Former Bolton Wanderers defender Nicky Hunt, who is on trial at Crewe might also be involved after playing part of Crewe’s opening pre-season game at Nantwich Town on Saturday, which they won 1-0 with Jordan Bowery heading the only goal of the game.
Admission prices for Tuesday’s game are £5 adults, £3 concessions (OAPs and 16-21 years) and £1 for Under 16s.
THERE is still time to purchase Early Bird season tickets which give free admission to all pre-season games.
