MANAGER Frank Sinclair has agreed a deal to take young Oldham Athletic defender Jack Truelove on a short term loan – and is hoping he could be involved in Saturday’s FA Trophy tie at Stockport County.
The 18-year-old left back has already played in Oldham’s first team, even though he is a first year pro, and has been signed until January 3rd, after having a successful loan spell at Stalybridge Celtic earlier this season.
Lanre Olapde and Moustapha Saiel are still unavailable through injury and the manager commented: “Our squad is a bit thin at the moment with a few knocks, and Jack well help to tide us over until the New Year and provide a bit extra competition for places.
“We are awaiting international clearance to see if he can be involved in the game at Stockport.
“There are likely to be changes with this being our third game in eight days, but we will pick the strongest team available to try and cause an upset in the tie.”
Stockport, who are averaging crowds of over 2,500 at home games, have reeled off seven consecutive victories in the league at Edgeley Park and hope to have full back Scott Duxbury back after an eight-week absence through injury.
“It will be tough, but we go their with confidence high,” said Frank. “We won there last season and it should be a good game, on good pitch and in front of a big crowd. We don’t get to experience that too often so the players should relish that and rise to the occasion.”
Adult admission to the game is £10. If the tie is drawn, the replay will by at Llanelian Road next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Meanwhile there is more encouraging news on Moustapha Saiel who has had surgery on his knee which found the damage was not as bad as first feared. He is now undergoing rehab and says he is hoping to back playing early in the New Year.
