New faces in squad for Leamington

THE Seagulls hope to have couple of new faces in their squad for Saturday’s away trip to Leamington as they look to recover from Monday’s heavy defeat against Fylde.
Manager Frank Sinclair is bringing in 19-year-old goalkeeper Liam Sharpe from Wrexham’s Glyndwr Academy on loan and the club have also completed the signing of Portuguese central defender Filipe Anjos.
Sharpe has previously had spells with Manchester City and Leicester City and has been signed initially until January to provide stiffer competition for Josh Ollerenshaw. He will be in the squad at Leamington providing clearance comes through in time.
The 20-year-old Anjos was playing Second Division football in Portugal last season and the club received international clearance for him yesterday.
“He has a decent background and gives us another option at the back,” said Sinclair.
The Seagulls are further boosted by having Rob Hopley, Louis Moss and Tom Buckley all available again after injury, while Paulo Mendes got through a full training session for the first time after recovering from a fractured foot.
Moustapha Saiel was also able to train on Thursday but is not 100 per cent and a decision on his fitness after a leg injury suffered at Hyde last week, will be left until as late as possible.
Denis Pilliner returns to the reserves and goalkeeper Josh Clark and defender Tom Clarke have both been released by the club, with Sinclair adding: “I would like to wish both of them well in the future.”
Leamington are three points and eight places above Colwyn Bay in the table and Sinclair said: “Leamington pose difficult opposition and I am expecting a tough and physical game, but last Monday’s game should be hurting everybody in the squad, no more than myself, and I am looking for a response individually and collectively.”
