THE Seagulls have appointed Mochdre-based Mike Brookes as the club’s new commercial manager.
The 56-year-old recently spent three years in Malta working for top Maltese football club Hiberians, who have been regular participants in the European competitions since the early 1960s, and before that he was media officer with Rochdale Football Club.
Mike has a background in journalism having worked for the BBC and the Manchester Evening News.
He is delighted to be on board at Colwyn Bay and and is keen to help bring much-needed revenue into the club.
He says: “I know it is going to be difficult, but I want to reach out to the business community as well as the fans and get as many people involved in the club as possible.”
Vice-Chairman Kurtis Chapman commented: “I’ve been looking for a new commercial manager since Keena moved to events manager in the new year. It’s not a easy position to fill, I needed someone with fresh ideas and experience in the industry to carry on the great work Keena started.
“Having spoken to mike for a few weeks now and introducing him to the other directors last week it was a unanimous decision to appoint him with the pedigree he will bring to the club.
“Constant changes to the commercial position hasn’t been great for the club but Mike shares our vision and knows exactly how much a club at this level relies on commercial revenue.”
Anyone interested in backing the club as they fly the flag for North Wales just two division below the Football League, can contact Mike on 07474 428390.
