SEAGULLS boss Paul Moore has beaten off interest from several other clubs to secure the signing of centre forward Will Jones from Burscough.
The player who was Burscough’s top scorer last season in the Evostik Division One North has previously been with Marine and Warrington.
The manager commented: “Its another big signing for the club. He is a big, strong centre forward who scored 20 goals last season and we beat off some good competition from clubs in the league above us to get him.
“I am very pleased with his capture. We now have Rhys Bowers and Will Jones who can both lead the line up front and can be a real handful for teams to defend against.”
During his time at Marine, the then manager Phil Brazier described Will as “Marine’s Mr Superman”.
He added: “He really makes us play, he holds it up and doesn’t give defenders a minute. He is irreplaceable for us at the moment.”
Will is now set to make his Bay debut in Saturday’s home friendly against AFC Telford.
