SEAGULLS boss Phill Hadland has made an addition to his backroom staff by bringing in highly rated goalkeeping coach Craig Horner from Radcliffe Borough.
Craig will be working with new keepers Matt Cooper and Kris Leigh, having already worked with Kris previously both at Radcliffe and prior to that at Mold Alex, where Craig was on the coaching staff when they won the NEWFA Cup for the first time in nearly 20 years in 2015, beating Chirk in the final at Airbus Broughton’s stadium.
Meanwhile the manager reports pre-season training has been going very well, with the new signings settling in well.
“We’re still waiting for a couple of lads to return from holidays and they will be working hard when they get back in order to get up to the same fitness levels as everyone else,” reported the manager.
He also expects to be in a position to announce another new signing in the next few days.
There are a couple of early injury concerns in the squad, however, with Gaz Grant and Gaz Burnett both still troubled by knee injuries suffered towards the end of last season.
“Gaz Burnett is slowly getting better, but both players will be having scans this week,” said Phill.
“This gives other players an opportunity to forge their way into the team as competition for places will be fierce this season.”
