AARON REY is added to the squad for Tuesday’s opening home league game against newly-promoted Chorley (7.4pm kick off), and one of his former clubs, after his international clearance was confirmed.
“Aaron was down to play on Saturday, but we had to make a late change when his clearance failed to come through in time,” said manager Frank Sinclair.
“Hopefully we can get him involved on Tuesday because he gives us another attacking option.”
The Seagulls are still without Senegal midfielder Moustapha Saeil, whose international clearance is not likely to come through before the weekend, while winger Paulo Mendes remains sidelined with a broken foot, but there is not thought to be any other injury concerns from Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Solihull.
Chorley won promotion as Evostik Premier champions last season under the guidance of former Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers player Gary Flitcroft, and now have ex-Seagulls stalwart Tom Smyth in their squad.
They were only denied an opening day victory last weekend by a 90th minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw against Lowestoft Town after taking a 2-1 lead with goals from Harry Winter an the experienced ex-Halifax striker James Dean.
