MANAGER Paul Moore has announced some squad changes with a “exciting” new signing in the pipline as he prepares for Tuesday’s away game at Ramsbottom United (Sept 27) – which could see the Seagulls move into the top five of the Evostik Division One North.
With four of the seven clubs above them playing each other, the Bay will be hoping to extend their winning run to four games and take full advantage of points dropped by their top eight rivals.
They will have to be on top of their game to do that. Ramsbottom have recorded only one win in their last seven league and cup games, but that includes three home draws and they remain unbeaten in the league at the Riverside stadium this season (two wins and three draws).
Meanwhile the manager has been in negotiations with an attacking midfielder as another potential addition to the squad.
“He would be an exciting signing and I hope to have an answer from him on Thursday,” reported the manager.
He would be the fourth addition to the squad in less than a fortnight and as a result the manager has decided to release midfielders Chris Bibby and Mark Keddie, along with forward Adam Whitlock, to allow them to find regular football elsewhere.
The club thank them for their efforts and wish them success in the future.
Rhys Bowers is also going out on loan to get some game time.
George Mannion, who has been on loan at Northwich, has been in talks with Ramsbottom over a possible move.
The Bay look likely to have an unchanged starting line-up on Tuesday with the manager keen not to tinker with a winning side unless he has to due to injury.
