New signing Jack Phillips
MANAGER Paul Moore has announced he has completed the signing of former Accrington Stanley winger Jack Phillips from Prescot Cables.
The 22-year-old, who turns 23 next Sunday, was a trainee with Wigan Athletic and was signed on a short term contract by his former primary school teacher John Coleman at Accrington in August last year after winning both the Supporters and Managers’ Player of the Season awards at Prescot.
A hip injury marred his stay with the League Two club and after a spell on loan at Skelmersdale United he was released in the summer and returned to Prescot, playing against Colwyn Bay in the Seagulls 1-0 victory at Prescot last month.
Paul Moore described his new acquisition as “a very exciting winger/forward”.
He is not available for this Saturday’s FA Trophy tie against a Witton as he played for Prescot in the previous round against Ossett Albion.
