Danny Meadowcroft’s two goals secured the Bay’s second away win of the season in the Skrill North with a 2-1 victory at Oxford City on Saturday. The Seagulls, who dominated the first half, went ahead on 59 minutes when Meadowcroft scored following a goalmouth scramble.

But with two minutes of normal time remaining Paul Stonehouse levelled for the home side. However the Bay were not to be denied and a minute later defender Meadowcroft pictured below) found the net for a second time following another goalmouth scramble. The Seagulls are now up to 11th in the Skrill North table.

“We deserved the win today and to be honest when Oxford scored at the death that is worst I have ever felt over conceding a goal because they totally didn’t deserve it,” Frank Sinclair told Tim Channon.

“I ran out of fingers counting the number of opportunities we had in the first half, but the ball wouldn’t go in.
“But we have showed great spirit and after losing our first two games the boys have worked really hard in training and are starting to show some self belief.”
