COLWYN BAY’S new look squad have five players hoping to make their home debuts in Tuesday’s game against bottom five rivals Skelmersdale United (January 19th, 7.45pm).
Front man Carl Lamb played in the Seagulls last game at Workington more than two weeks ago, but this will be his first home game and he is joined in a full strength squad by other new signings Connor Roberts-Nurse, Jordan Harper, Steve Boothman and Wrexham loanee Joe Williams.
With the club hopeful that the game can go ahead, manager Kevn Lynch will make a late decision on his starting line-up, but knows a first home win in over 14 weeks would put his side level on points with fifth-bottom Skelmersdale – albeit having played two games more.
“Seven postponements in our last ten scheduled fixtures makes it very difficult to build momentum, but everybody else is pretty much in the same position due to the weather,” says the manager.
“Despite the lack of games the players have trained well, are in good shape physically and in good spirits.”
Skem are without a win in their last seven league and cup games, but Bay’s boss added: “Tommy Lawson’s sides can never be under-estimated. They like to play football so this game will suit us, but we must be on our toes because they have some good players and I’m expecting a very good game.”
