Alan Morgan

Manager

  DOB: 02/11/1973
Alan made 69 first team appearances in midfielder for Tranmere Rovers where he is now youth development coach, before spells at Doncaster Rovers and Morecambe. As manager at Llandudno he helped them win promotion to the Welsh Premier League and qualify for Europe by finishing third in their first season. He is a UEFA Pro licence candidate.

Craig Hogg

Assistant Manager

  DOB: 08/10/1981
Locally based ‘Hoggy’ played for the Bay from 2001-3  after being released by Everton and then had a spell at Caernarfon Town before joining Llandudno where he captained them to two cup successes and helped them to three finals in five years as a player. He then had five years as assistant manager to Alan Morgan, helping Llandudno win promotion  to the Welsh Premier as Cymru Alliance champions. He is a UEFA B licence coach and hopes to be on the A licence in early 2018.

Neil Coverley

1st Team Coach

DOB: 20/01/1983
Neil started his playing career at Crewe Alexandra and played for Colwyn Bay in the 2006/7 season when they reached the Unibond Division 1 play-offs, having previously been at the Bay under Ady Jones before going to Llandudno on second forms. Covs  was voted Player of the Season in 2007, but then returned for a second spell at Llandudno.

Matt Cooper

Goalkeeper

DOB: 09/01/1989

Signed from Glossop North End, Matt played for the Debryshire club at Wembley in the 2009/10 FA Vase Final against Whitley Bay and then had three seasons at Witton Albion prior to a short spell with Marine, before returning to Glossop where he won a Player of the Month award last season

 

Kris Leigh

Goalkeeper

DOB: 25/09/1994

Kris, who was previously with Connah’s Quay Nomads and Radcliffe Borough, signed in the Summer. He had an outstanding game and was named man-of-the-match when Radcliffe beat the Bay at the end of last season.

Dan Collins

Defender

DOB: 15/06/1995

Dan was originally on-loan from Wrexham last season. He was born in South Africa but raised in Sydney, Australia, where he played for Marconi Stallions, before moving to North Wales to sign for Bala Town in 2014. He then joined Wrexham under the Glyndwr Wrexham Football Academy where he studied for a BA degree in accounting.

Gareth Grant

Defender

DOB: 16/08/1990

A strong centre half, Gareth was signed from Runcorn Town, where he scored 11 goals in 36 appearances. He has also had spells with St Helens Town and Ashton Athletic. Gareth was voted Directors’ Player and Manager’s Player of the Season for 2016/17.

Sam Barnes

Defender (captain)

DOB: 16/10/1991

A former Liverpool Schoolboys player, Sam played for Stockport County Under-18s when still a schoolboy and had trials with Manchester United. He played for Northwich Victoria and Marine before signing for Hednesford Town in 2012 and helping them to promotion from the Evo-Stik Premier Division in 2012/13. He joined Colwyn Bay in May 2015 and has returned for a second spell after being with Glossop North End.

Louis Barnes

Defender

DOB: 16/10/1991

Twin brother of skipper Sam, Louis was with Stockport County as a teenager and was signed by Southport from Marine as a 20-year old. An attack-minded full-back and set piece specialist, Louis has also had spells at Northwich Victoria, Chorley (on-loan) and Vauxhall Motors

Josh Brizell

Defender

  DOB: 15/10/1991

Josh was captain of the youth and reserve team at Rochdale before breaking into the first team. He has since had spells at Telford, Hyde, Glossop North End and Marine.

Kyle Jacobs

Midfielder

DOB: 18/10/1986

An experienced right-back, Kyle started his playing career with Mansfield as a teenager and has since played for FC United of Manchester, Stockport County and Chorley, and last season was with Trafford and Glossop North End.

Lassana Nalatche Mendes

Midfielder

DOB: 26/12/1992

Versatile midfielder who can play in a number of positions, Lass played for Spanish Second Division clubs Cadiz and PV Ejido in his native Spain before coming to England. He was voted Player of the Year and was team captain for a number of games at Radcliffe Borough and then had a short spell at Stalybridge Celtic before signing for Colwyn Bay.

Luke Horrocks

Midfielder

DOB: 20/08/1988

A central midfielder, Luke was in the Curzon Ashton squad that won the Evo-Stik One North championship in 2013/14 for the club’s first title in 36 years. He started as a trainee at Bury and has also had spells at Northwich Victoria, Hednesford Town, New Mills and Trafford.

Will Booth

Midfielder

DOB: 29/07/1997

Will was signed from Kidsgrove after coming through the ranks at Port Vale, and was a member of the Cheshire team that won the FA County Youth Cup in 2015. Will was voted Supporters Player of the Season in 2016/17.

Danny Andrews

Forward

DOB: 14/10/1996

A quality wing-back with an eye for goal, Danny was on Liverpool’s books as a youngster and after a spell at Cammell Laird, where he was Player of the Year in 2009/10, he joined Witton Albion in 2011, 2013/14 and made over 250 appearances for the Cheshire club, scoring over 80 goals – including 24 in 52 appearances in 2015/16. Colwyn Bay paid a transfer fee to bring him the the club in the summer of 2016.

Danny Bartle

Forward

DOB: 15/05/1993

A pacey goal-scoring forward, Danny was signed from Sandbach Town after netting 18 goals in the first half of their season in the North West Counties League and helping them to promotion the previous campaign.

Jack Hindle

Forward

DOB: 29/10/1993

A strong attacking player who can play up-front or on the wing, Jack signed from Radcliffe Borough in May 2017. He scored 13 goals and had 21 assists for Radcliffe last season, where he was also club captain.

Jamie Rainford

Forward

DOB: 21/02/1988

Jamie is in his second spell at the Bay having scored four goals in seven games while on loan from Halifax in 2012. He was top scorer for Glossop North End last season with 29 league goals and rejoined the Bay in February 2017 having also had spells at Chester, Marine, Fylde, Connah’s Quay and Witton Albion.

Astley Mulholland

DOB: 19/01/1988

An exciting, left-sided attacking player, Astley was signed from Glossop North End after previous spells with Ashton United, Altrincham, FC United and Chorley.

Nathan Brown

Forward

  DOB: 11/10/1998

Rhyl-born Nathan is on loan from Chester where he was the youth team’s Player of the Season for 2016/17 and signed his first pro contract in the summer. He scored on his first team debut for Chester earlier this season.

Gary Burnett

Forward

DOB: 28/01/1991

In his second spell with the Seagulls, Gary helped Shaw Lane win the Evo-Stik Division One South title last season. Prior to that he netted over 50 goals in two spells at Northwich Victoria, interrupted by a short spell at Curzon Ashton, and helped them to two cup successes, winning the Cheshire Senior Cup and Mid-Cheshire Senior Cup. When he re-joined Northwich, he scored 14 goals in the last five months of the campaign, including a hat-trick in a 6-1 Doodson Cup win against Premier Division Skelmersdale United – the club where he first made his debut.

Bryan has been the club’s kit manager for more than 12 years having been a supporter of the club for a number of years before that.

Assistant Kit Manager

Michael supports Kit Manager Bryan Kelly and is a dedicated member of the backroom staff.

Elfyn Jones

Head Groundsman

Elfyn has been the head groundsman for a number of years and regularly receives accolades from visiting teams and officials for the superb condition of the Colwyn Bay pitch.
