THE Seagulls have signed Australian Under 21 international defender Dan Collins on loan from Wrexham in time for Saturday’s away game at Tadcaster Albion.

The 21-year-old, who has recently been on loan to Rhyl, was born in South Africa but raised in Sydney, Australia, where he played for Marconi Stallions, before moving to North Wales to sign for Bala Town in 2014.

He joined Wrexham under the Glyndwr Wrexham Football Academy where he is studying for BA degree in accounting.

He links up with a depleted Colwyn Bay squad that is without four of their potential first choice eleven for the game at Tadcaster.

Manager Phill Hadland reports recent centre back signing Sam Barnes could be out for a number of weeks with the ankle injury sustained in last weekend’s 4-0 home defeat to Mossley.
Striker Rob Doran starts a three match ban for the red card he received in the same game, ruling him out for the rest of January, while winger Jack Phillips may be unavailable for the foreseeable future due to work commitments and midfielder Tom Schofield is away until next week.
That drastically reduces the manager’s options as he looks for a response to the side’s defeat last weekend and a six-game winless run.
Having won promotion last season, Tadcaster have had a poor run of late themselves, dropping into the bottom eight of the table with only one win in their last nine league games and losing four and drawing one of their last five of those at home.
However, they gave themselves a boost by reaching the semi-finals of the West Riding Cup with a 4-1 home win over North West Counties side Silsden on Tuesday evening.
In prolific striker Carl Stewart, who has recently returned to the club from Scarborough Athletic, they also  have one  the Evostik Divison One North’s top four goal scorers this season with 17 goals in all games (12 of them with Scarborough)
Stewart scored a club record 32 goals for Tadcaster in 2013/14 and was part of their promotion winning squad last season.
The Reserves are scheduled to play Caernarfon Town at The Oval in Llandudno (2pm kick off).
