Denson faces late fitness test

LUKE DENSON will have a late fitness check ahead of Tuesday night’s opening league home game against Hyde United (7.45pm).
The full-back suffered a dead leg in Saturday’s defeat at Halesowen, forcing his substitution, but after ice treatment he is now hopeful of being fit.
After the big disappointment of losing their opening game at the weekend, manager Ash Hoskin will be hoping to get the season up and running with a home victory.
“Getting that first win on the board is massive,” he agreed. “We really should have had it on Saturday and Chris Sharp could have had a hat-trick with the chances he had, including the penalty.
“We were on top for much of the game, but clearly we have to be better in front of goal.”
Hyde were relegated with Colwyn Bay from the Conference North last season and opened their campaign with a 2-2 home draw against Grantham Town.
Both their goals were scored by summer signing Ayrton Bevins, who was Cambridge United last season, and he will be a threat, while Hyde now have former Colwyn Bay keeper Josh Ollerenshaw in their squad.
