Colwyn Bay face Champions League opposition on Saturday with a visit from Welsh Premier League Champions The New Saints for the latest pre-season fixture and manager Frank Sinclair is expected to have culled a number of trialists from his squad.
Frank has fielded a number of trialists in the opening three pre-season games but is now ready to cut down numbers, allowing him to play a more settled team in the four remaining friendlies before the new season kicks off on 17 August at Histon.
Player coach Ade Akinbiyi is expected to miss the game after having to come off with a tight hamstring just 38 minutes into his debut against Chelsea last Saturday but Steve Connor and John McKenna should be fit to return after recovering from knocks.
The Saints recently faced Polish champions Legia Warsaw over two legs in the second qualifying round, losing 4-1 on aggregate. Craig Harrison’s side are preparing for the defence of their Welsh Premier League title, which begins at home to Port Talbot Town on 24 August.
