Darren Millar AM was elected to the National Assembly for Wales in May 2007. He also represents the Towyn ward on both Conwy County Borough Council and Towyn and Kinmel Bay Town Council.  

Having served as a governor of a number of schools, Darren is currently a member of the governing body of St George School, near Abergele.  He has also been a representative for Conwy on the North Wales Police Authority.

In 2000/2001, Darren became the youngest serving Mayor in Wales  when he served the township of Towyn and Kinmel Bay.

Happily married with two children, Darren is very much a family man. He is a member of the Chartered Management Institute and has experience in the charity, construction, care home and telecommunications industries. Immediately prior to his election to the Assembly he was employed as a Regional Manager for an international charity. 

Darren is an active member of North Coast Church, Towyn. Other interests include reading and history.
