Ossett Town beat Warrington Town 3-1 in their FA Cup replay and will play Colwyn Bay in next week’s third qualifying round.
The result dashed Jon Newby’s hopes of a return to the Red Lion Foods Stadium where he was in charge for 14 months prior to his dismissal earlier this year.
Warrington took a first half lead, but ended up losing 3-1 in extra time after having two players and manager Shaun Reid sent off.
Colwyn Bay last played Ossett Town in the 2010/11 season when they completed a league double over them on their way to promotion to the Conference North under Dave Challinor. They won 3-1 at home and then 3-2 at Ossett, helped by two goals from Jimmy McCarthy.
