THE Seagulls gave another exhilarating display of attacking football to net four goals without reply against Droylsden (Nov 22) and record the club’s biggest home league win in over five years.

There have been a couple of 4-1 wins and there was a 6-3 victory over Droylsden in November 2011, but this is the biggest winning margin at home in a league game since the 4-0 win over Frickley Athletic in March 2011.
On the back of the 3-0 win at Burscough last Saturday, it lifted the Bay into the top seven and within three points of the top five.
It would have been two, but for Ossett Town’s 90th minute winner at Tadcaster.
Manager Paul Moore says he has been working hard in training with his forward players on their attacking play and on the evidence of the last two games it certainly seems to be working, with seven goals along with two clean sheets over the past four days.
The Bay were in front after 15 minutes against Droylsden when Gaz Grant scored from Luke Denson’s free kick into the area and they doubled the lead on 29 minutes when Jack Phillips and Tom Schofield combined to set up the chance for Danny Andrews to score.
Phillips, who gave another eye-catching performance, hit a screamer  which was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Droylsden keeper James Coates while Danny Andrews and Scott Bakkor missed out on other first half chances.
Colwyn Bay saw off early Droylsden pressure in the second half, with keeper Kieran Wolland making an outstanding save to tip a  close range shot from Liam Caddick round the post, before Scott Bakkor scored Bay’s third goal with a shot  from just outside the area on 68 minutes.
Substitute Will Jones sent a looping header just over the bar before rifling in the fourth goal from 25 yards with five minutes left.
Colwyn Bay: Kieran Wolland, Luke Denson, Louis Corrigan, Gaz Grant, Tom Hardwick (c), Mike Roddy, Jack Phillips (Liam Turner 87mins), Tom Schofield, Chris Gahgan (Will Jones 72mins),  Scott Bakkor (Kyle Armstrong 79mins), Danny Andrews. Subs not used: Will Booth and Michael Pino.
