FOUR goals from Carl Lamb saw Colwyn Bay Reserve win the Reserve League Cup in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance for the second year running with a 4-3 victory against Llanberis in the final at Bangor.
Drafted in because of injuries, Lamb scored the opening goal from a good run and cross by Sean Sheridan on 26 minutes and a minute later added a second with tap in set up perfectly by Adam Whitlock.
Llanberis pulled a goal back through Johnny Syster following a corner, but just before half-time Sheridan put in another fine run down the right and his cross was headed down by Whitlock for Lamb to drive in his third.
With the wind behind them in the second half, Colwyn Bay forced five corners in the opening 16 minutes of the second half but couldn’t add to their lead and Llanberis weathered the storm before pulling a goal back through Gavin Edwards’ chipped shot over Bay keeper Scott Williams on 68 minutes to make it 3-2.
Four minutes later Lamb headed his fourth from a corner, but Llanberis kept battling and set up a tense finish when Kurt Helfield made it 4-3 by converting a rebound off the crossbar with seven minutes remaining.
Llanberis pushed for an equaliser and with Liam Jones throwing his body in the way of one shot to keep his side in front, Colwyn Bay, who had chances on the break to wrap it up, held on to lift the cup.
